Financial Aid is any source of funds that
a student receives to pay educational expenses including grants,
scholarships, loans, work-study, and employment benefits.
Grants are generally need-based funds, which do not have to be repaid.
Scholarships are generally performance or achievement based funds.
These funds may be need or non-need based and do not usually have
to be repaid.
Loan funds may be need or non-need based. These funds must be repaid
according to the condition of the loan.
Work funds are funds that you work to earn. You may be required
maintain employment for a specific amount of time after receiving
funds. Examples of these funds are work-study and company based
tuition payment or reimbursement plans.
